Located in Beirut’s high end central district, this proposal for a jewelry flagship store brings together 3 elements desired by the client: flexibility, memory and temporality. The incremental immersion of the user within the space is achieved through the delaminated surfaces that slowly smoothen as one moves deeper in the processional promenade, celebrating as much the object displayed as the passerby. The surface itself is broken down into a series of mobile panels, wrapped with translucent fabric, filtering light, and introducing softness, reflection and transparency. The flexibility of these panels allows for a continuous transformation of the space to respond to different programmatic scenarios, shaping the space in unique ways. Conceived as autonomous panels guided by custom wheels and tracks, they slide, rotate and shift to allow for uniformity and differentiation, simultaneously. The result is an abstract space that offsets the varied styles, tones and material language of the displayed merchandise while putting forward the items to be sold.
