The Al Qibla neighbourhood in Kuwait City is home to many creative and cultural spaces, and the tower is intended to integrate harmoniously with the old city’s streets. Inspiration for the project is drawn from the materiality and rich cultural and social fabric of downtown Kuwait.

Alqibla Tower invites visitors and passersby to enter the building at street level via considered public spaces for retail and dining, which in turn connect workspaces on higher levels with the activity of the surrounding streets.

Located on the Persian Gulf, Kuwait was a major location for international trade and has long been a center of creativity and culture, particularly in the fields of visual art and theatre.

From afar, the office tower appears as a striking monolith, but at street level, strategically carved corners dissect the building’s massing, creating human scale.

The corners are glazed with floor to ceiling windows, flooding the space with natural light and connecting the internal spaces to the existing city and vitality of urban street life.
