Situated on the Arabian Peninsula on shores of the Persian Gulf, Abu Dhabi is prone to extremely high temperatures and levels of humidity during the summer months. The complex design considers these elements, to create a comfortable welcoming space for physical and social activity.

Inspired by the lightweight sheds that once characterized the formerly industrial area, Padel Complex introduces a sense of clarity and purpose in an otherwise generic environment. The exterior is clad in a translucent, high-performance double skin, that softly filters natural light into the space, creating an inviting atmosphere.

This cladding gently blends the complex with its surroundings during the day, but subtle illumination transforms it into a vibrant beacon of energy at night. Internally, the ground floor has an open layout that brings together a series of padel courts, dedicated workout spaces, and a café for visitors.

These elements are visually interconnected and viewable from the surrounding streets, ensuring that the dynamic activity within is visible from the outside, inviting the community to engage with the space. Upstairs additional padel courts activate the streetscape façade.
