Exhibition - AlMusalla in Bukhara Biennial
AlMusalla from Jeddah to Bukhara

In recent months, AlMusalla has journeyed across lands, carrying with it the spirit of prayer, resilience, and devotion. With each step of its path, it has gathered layers of meaning, echoes of those who have entered its space, fragments of memory, and the quiet persistence of faith.

On September 5, AlMusalla found its new home in Uzbekistan, as part of the inaugural Bukhara Biennale. Set within a city that once pulsed at the centre of the Silk Road, this arrival feels like a return to a place where cultures, ideas, and prayers have always intersected. Here, AlMusalla’s presence speaks of continuity across centuries, reminding us that sacred expression is as much about movement as it is about stillness.

From the embrace of the Red Sea, where pilgrims have long traced journeys of devotion, to the heart of the Silk Road, where caravans carried knowledge and hope, its path reveals the nature of transience. Sacred spaces do not vanish when they shift; they transform, carrying their essence into new soil, opening themselves to unfamiliar skies.

AlMusalla’s unfolding story is a meditation on resilience. It shows us that spirituality endures through change, radiates with each new beginning, and adapts with grace to the places that welcome it. In every setting, prayer takes root once more, creating moments where the sacred becomes visible; always renewed, always alive.
