Project Description
Located in the Port industrial district, the reconversion of an office space into a living archive and exhibition space takes inspiration from the history and cultural context of the adjacent flour mill campus. Designed and curated in collaboration with the artist Rayyane Tabet, the open space is conceived as a flexible exhibition and archival space, meant to recount, collect and document the establishment of a pioneering flour mill corporation. The geometry of the neighboring octagonal silos unfolds through the space in the form of a solid membrane, stitching both exhibition levels. It introduces monumental voids for the display of large-scale art work below, while enclosing private archival rooms at a higher level.
